4 Tips on How Not to Let Others’ Opinions Deter You from Your Goals, by Kyle Biskit

by DN News Desk

Many entrepreneurs have received funny looks and negative comments from people when discussing their business ideas, but it is critical to not let this discourage you. As he was staying in four- and five-star hotels to educate himself on the hospitality business, Kyle Biskit had people telling him he was wasting time and money. Little did they know, this was intensive research for the company TSL (Top Shelf Lifestyle) Rentals. Today, Kyle Biskit provides luxury home and car rentals to discerning clients in Southern California. We caught up with this business owner to find out how he sailed past people’s opinions to launch his successful business.

Confidence
A critical trait of any entrepreneur is confidence. If you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect other people to? There is ultimately one person who needs to believe in their business, and that is you. Once you truly believe in yourself and your idea, you will be able to overcome the odds.

Stop Comparisons
Do not compare yourself to others. We have different goals and ideas, and therefore, these comparisons are essentially worthless. Focus on yourself and your ideas, not that of others. You can certainly learn from other people, but use this as a tool, not a measure of success.

Don’t Care Too Much
A lot of people are too involved with how they are perceived by others. If you are an entrepreneur, you have to move past this. If the opinion of friends and family is important, that’s one thing; the general population, not so much. You have to get past the opinions of others. Kyle Biskit could care less that people thought he was wasting money, and it paid off.

Stay Focused
When you are building a business, you must stay focused and keep your eyes on the prize. Tune out negative voices and follow your passion. Have a plan, stick to it, and don’t let others deter you. This is where confidence and believing in yourself come in, as they will guide you down the right path.

Kyle Biskit followed these steps to create a flourishing business that has expanded to his native Detroit. The next steps are scaling TSL Rentals to the luxury markets in Miami and Texas. As he scales his company up, Kyle Biskit is listening to just one opinion: his own.
