3 Things Aspiring Real Estate Agents Must Consider in the Post-Pandemic World

by DN News Desk

Real Estate experts Julia Wang and Dave Panozzo discuss what the real estate industry will look like in the post-pandemic world and what that will mean for aspiring real estate agents.

COVID-19 made an unexpected entrance and threw every industry in a whirlwind that many are still grappling with and trying to recover from. This has since a mass transformation of how things are done in each industry to adapt to the changes brought about by the global pandemic. The real estate industry is no different as meetings, home walk-throughs, and open houses can no longer be done.

Knowing this, is there a future for real estate agents, those in the industry, and even aspiring agents? Well, as per real estate experts Julia Wang and Dave Panozzo, the post-pandemic world will accommodate aspiring real estate agents given that they consider the following:

1. Changes in customer demands
People will always need a place to live, and even amid a pandemic, a lot of people have sold and bought properties. Many people are also considering moving after the pandemic to different cities, different areas, and this is a learning curve for aspiring agents. Customer needs and demands will always evolve, and the pandemic has changed what people look for in a property. According to Julia Wang, “the industry post-pandemic will be a great learning experience for new and upcoming agents to see how customer demands are in a constant change.”

“I believe the pandemic, much as it’s been a devastating time, serves as a good turning point for real estate agents,” states Panozzo, “it will help aspiring agents better prepared to deal with evolving customer needs.”

2. The future is digital
“It is now very clear to see that the future is digital. We cannot carry on as we did before, and every aspiring agent needs to realize this,” states Julia Wang, a powerhouse in the real estate industry. She has built a strong social media presence, which has seen her voted #1 realtor on social media. “The digital space is ripe for the taking,” she adds. For aspiring real estate agents, most of their services will need to be integrated into the online world. Panozzo says that he has always been an advocate of doing things differently and redefining the space. “It is time for aspiring agents to get familiar with going 3-D, showing houses virtually and the like.”

3. Adaptability – Prepare for the unprecedented
Even before the pandemic, the real estate industry was facing downs and ups from time to time; however, the pandemic has now provided a different angle. Those who pick themselves up fastest and adapt in the post-pandemic world will thrive. Julia says, “now is the time for aspiring agents to be studying and practicing, getting ready for all possible changes.”
“Expect the unexpected,” says Dave Panozzo; “the post-pandemic world is not something that anyone can accurately predict; however, prior preparation will help aspiring real estate agents step into the real estate industry successfully, especially as the market recovers,” he concludes. Everyone in the real estate industry is now in a state of getting ready, and aspiring real estate agents need to thoroughly prepare for any eventuality that the post-pandemic world might pose.
