Wolford Taps Ashish Sensarma As CEO

by Dena Silver

Two months ago, Wolford announced plans to restructure and revamp their label. The first alteration was marked by the hire of Grit Seymour, as the inaugural creative director. She’s been tasked with refreshing the brand’s legwear, lingerie, and ready-to-wear offerings. Now, they’ve tapped retail vet Ashish Sensarma to take over as CEO in January. He will replace Holger Dahmen, who is voluntarily leaving his executive position after a decade. Axel Dreher, the brand’s COO, will take on the additional role of deputy CEO. The duo of execs will work closely in their new  capacities.

Sensarma got his start at Mexx, a Dutch fashion label. Joining the company in 1984 as operations manager for the U.S., he rose through the ranks, eventually becoming VP of consumer sales. He also spent four years as COO at Vilebrequin; he was most recently a partner and advisor at Rituals, a home and body cosmetics company. Sensarma arrives at the Wolford gig armed with international marketing and and sales expertise, the label’s chairwoman, Dr. Antonella Mei-Pochtler said in a statement. “His proficiency in driving profitable growth and passion for creating consumer satisfaction are exactly what we need,” she explained. Sensarma begins his new job on January 7.
