Wolford Names Grit Seymour Creative Director

Wolford is further elevating their hosiery, lingerie, and ready-to-wear offerings, thanks to the hire of an inaugural creative director, Grit Seymour. The hire marks the start of a brand restructuring. Seymour will be tasked with the design of forthcoming collections; she also will have an advisory capacity in regards to the company’s identity, in terms of marketing and retail. She arrives at the label with previous experience as a designer and design consultant at Max Mara, as well as a stint as a senior designer at Donna Karan; designer at Eres. Seymour was head of women’s wear design chez Hugo Boss from 1999 to 2001, where she helped introduce their first-ever women’s collection. She’s also the founder of the now-defunct label Tape. Most recently, she taught fashion design at Berlin University of the Arts; she has also consulted at René Lezard, according to LinkedIn. Seymour’s first collection at Wolford will debut for Spring/Summer 2016.
