Watch Cara Delevingne Sing A Duet With Pharrell For Chanel

Who would have thought we would ever see Cara Delevingne singing a duet with Pharrell Williams? The duo sing a song called “CC the World” written and produced by Pharrell (naturally) for a new Chanel film by Karl Lagerfeld. The film is set in an Austrian hotel, the perfect prelude to the brand’s Métiers d’Art show that recently took place in Salzburg. Delevingne and Pharrell start out as a barmaid and bellhop respectively, but eventually come to life as their 19th-century look-alike portraits that hang in the lobby, which turns into a waltzing duet. The formal waltz eventually turns hip-hop inspired by the end of the film.

Meanwhile, the film features the rest of Lagerfeld’s fashion family such as Amanda Harlech, Jamie Bochert, and Hudson Kroenig. The latter chants “C C” as the background chorus to the song. And Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of Charlie Chaplin and Oona O’Neill, plays Coco Chanel, to whom she bares an uncanny resemblance. At the end of the film, Chaplin exits the hotel elevator and asks Pharrell as the bellhop, “Where did you get that jacket?” To which Pharrell replies, “They made it for me.” Chaplin as Coco replies, “Well I’m going to make it for me.” The scene recounts the story of Coco Chanel famously taking inspiration from the design of an elevator operator’s uniform jacket at the Baron Pantz hotel in Austria to make her now iconic Chanel jacket. Not to mention, before she was a designer Coco Chanel was a singer in entertainment venues that were then known as café-concerts and had aspirations for a stage career that (lucky for her and for us) never quite took off. Now Cara is waltzing in Coco’s footsteps! What do you think of Cara Delevingne’s singing chops?
