Vogue Hops On Board With Shopping App, Spring

by Dena Silver

The hype surrounding the mobile shopping app Spring continues: Vogue has signed up to be the first glossy on the e-commerce platform. As of today, there’s lots of merch available for purchase, including subscriptions to the magazine, prints from the archive, and kitschy presents emblazoned with the Vogue stamp, like towels and puzzles. Their goods are being sold alongside brands like Opening Ceremony, Helmut Lang, Carolina Herrera, and there’s even a shop filled with Beyoncé merch. In addition to their namesake shop, Vogue has also curated a boutique filled with pieces from the 2013 and 2014 participants of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

Buzz surrounding the app started almost as soon as its launch was announced, as it attracted backers like LVMH’s Bernard Arnault, Andrew Rosen, and former Coach CEO Lew Frankfort. The app, which was founded by brothers Alan and David Tisch, as well as Ara Katz and Octavian Costache, has been dubbed the Instagram for shopping. So does the app have further plans for expansion? “We’re always looking for new brands that create a better and more unique experience for our customers,” said Katz, who is Spring’s CMO. “You will also see more global labels, an expansion of our mens’ offerings, and more beauty and lifestyle brands in the coming months.” Let the shopping commence.
