Vivienne Westwood Launches A Collab With Five British Heritage Brands

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Vivienne Westwood ♥’s launched this week and features an array of products in collaboration with the designer’s favorite Brit heritage brands like Globe-Trotter, Gloverall, Johnstons of Elgin, Lock & Co, and Pantherella. So what can you expect? Cream and midnight blue luggage lined with classic Westwood tartan from Globe-Trotter, which was founded in 1897 and is still handmade on Victorian machinery in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, will be for sale to ensure stylish holiday travels. Duffle coats from Gloverall emblazoned with Westwood’s manifesto messages from her campaign for climate revolution or a double-faced tartan cloth duffle coat with hand-drawn printed graffiti tartan harken back to the brand’s roots in political activism when they were popular with protestors during wartime in the Sixties and Seventies. Johnstons of Elgin, experts in cashmere since 1797, whipped up some of their classic argyle pullovers using Westwood’s “cut and slash” technique (think Westwood’s Spring 1990 collection) and a pair of matching drop-crotch lounge pants.

Also getting the Westwood treatment? Premium sock purveyors Pantherella schemed up their classic socks in shades of fuchsia, scarlet red, saffron with lemon yellow, and charcoal and grey. “Dame Vivienne Westwood is the ultimate quintessentially British designer and we could not be more thrilled that she has selected Pantherella,” said Pantherella CEO Justin Hall in a statement. And to top it off, the chapeau creators at 300-year-old James Lock & Company Hats have reinvented their Lennon cap and Trilby Voyager hat in a variety of fabrics, including some used in Westwood’s Gold Label collections in Paris. Is there more? You bet! The hats will come in original hatboxes printed with more of those environmental campaign graphics. Check out the collection at select international Vivienne Westwood stores and online here. Or if you’re stateside, head over to the Los Angeles flagship boutique, which will also be offering an exclusive viewing of the collection on Thursday, November 14th
