Vanity Fair Returns To Cannes, Throws A Bash With Giorgio Armani

by Dena Silver

(NEW YORK) When the annual Cannes Film Festival lands in the South of France tomorrow, expect soirees and A-list celebs aplenty to take over  the iconic Croisette, including the pairing of Graydon Carter and Giorgio Armani, who will co-host a Vanity Fair and Armani party on May 17th that just might be the hautest invite of the week. The fête will be held at the Hôtel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes and will likely draw a star studded crowd for the combined cocktail party and dinner, which will be followed by an after party for VIPs. Previously, the glossy partnered up with Gucci in 2010 and 2012 at the same picturesque hotel to host their annual soiree, taking a brief hiatus in 2011, when VF was absent from the fest all together. VF was also notably missing from the scene last year (during their centennial year, no less!), allowing the inaugural French edition of Vanity Fair to take the spotlight. Last year, French VF threw dinner in conjunction with Chanel, which they will be recreating this year on May 20th. Last year, VF France’s chic sup hosted the likes of Jessica Chastain, Milla Jovovich, Karl Lagerfeld, Jonathan Newhouse, and the editorial staff of the brand new glossy. Expect both guest lists to feature Oscar-worthy actors, international style stars, and plenty of beautiful faces.
