UGG Picks Carolyn Murphy For Its New Collection

by Kristen Heinzinger

For the first time in nearly four decades, Australian footwear company, UGG–a division of Deckers Brands–is launching a re-imagined (and limited-edition) collection, Classic Luxe, selecting supermodel Carolyn Murphy as the ambassador for the campaign.

“We chose Carolyn Murphy as we felt that she truly embodies the UGG brand,” said UGG Vice President of Marketing Nancy Mamann. “She, along with Classic Luxe, is both elegant and refined, making Carolyn the perfect ambassador for the campaign.”

Classic Luxe is a sophisticated take on the traditional boot, featuring a more fashion-forward, slimmer, and more contoured silhouette. Crafted in Italy, the boots are made from a mix of goat suede and Merino Twinface, feature an embossed logo on the heel, and come in an extensive fall palette.

“My style definitely leans towards low maintenance, classic, and comfortable pieces,” said Murphy. “When it comes to clothes, I work from the bottom up, choosing my shoes first so I know I can make it through the day.” The 40-year-old supermodel–who was named “Model of the Year” by VHI in 1998, topped Forbes’ top-earning models list in 2012, and has been a long-time face of Estée Lauder–hasn’t been out of the fashion spotlight this year, having launched a lingerie capsule with Cheek Frills in June and signing on with Shinola as their design director in May.
