Topshop Pairs Up With Meadham Kirchhoff Again

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Today, in fast fashion match-ups to note: those British arbiters of quirk at Meadham Kirchhoff and Topshop are joining forces on a collection that will hit racks on November 21. This is part deux of the pair-up with the high street stalwart for designers Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff, which first debuted in 2010. The second round of bringing Meadham Kirchhoff’s often whimsical creations to the Topshop-browsing masses will be substantially larger in scope, comprised of 80 pieces this time around. The collection is dubbed “The Cherrys,” named after a fictional band.

Last month, Topshop announced Kate Moss’ sophomore design effort for the retailer—a collection of 40 RTW pieces released in 40 countries with Topshop outposts, dovetailing with the supermod’s upcoming 40th birthday. Topshop’s most recent designer collab was with JW Anderson, which bowed in stores haute on the heels of the young designer’s British Fashion Award win. In February 2012, Mary Katrantzou trotted out her third capsule collection for Topshop. Besides their loyal, if somewhat niche, fanbase, Meadham Kirchhoff was nominated for a British Fashion Award in 2012 in the New Establishment category, losing out to Erdem for the accolade. Perhaps the masses will catch the Meadham Kirchhoff bug in a couple of weeks when the duds, inspired by glam rock and Marilyn Manson, crop up in stores.
