Top Brass! With Jessica Stam

More treats from PFW! Jessica Stam steamed up the Paris runways this season with that famous visage (those crystal blue eyes!). We chatted up Stam at CR Fashion Book party at The Peninsula in Paris on Tuesday to see how she feels about returning to the runway, what she was wearing, and fashion week flu! Plus: Stam’s brassy music instrument of choice, revealed…

How many shows did you walk this season?
I took it easy and did two shows in each city.

What are your hobbies outside of modeling?
I’ve been working for so many years and I’m still modeling so much, but I’m finally at a point where I have time to develop hobbies! I love to travel, I’m learning to scuba dive, and I’m picking up the trumpet again.

You play the trumpet?
I know, I’m such a big dork. I played the trumpet in elementary school. I love it.

You took a hiatus from the runway for a bit. What’s it like to be back on stage?
It’s really fun to be back in it and not do as many shows. But I forgot what the grind is like! Plus, I’m sick right now. I caught the fashion week flu. I’m totally worn down. I’m so ready to be home, but I love Paris and Milan. I’ve been having fun traveling.

What’s the last great place you traveled, beyond fashion month?
I go to the Hamptons a lot; I spent a lot of time there this summer. I also took a trip to Jamaica and stayed at Round Hill. It was beautiful.
