Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2015

by Dena Silver

How did Tommy Hilfiger underscore his whole all-American designer identity for Fall? For starters, he created a football field at the Park Avenue Armory to trot out his latest wares at his 30th anniversary show. A stream of top models, including Anna Ewers, Malaika Firth, Jourdan Dunn, Liu Wen, and Gigi Hadid hit the field to show off the sporty-chic designs. There were tweedy red, white, and blue dresses with a ribbed collars, a ruby red satin bomber jacket, and a poncho with a rugby stripe detail. And yes, the number 30 was featured prominently throughout, on leather jersey-inspired dresses and varsity sweaters. Actual football details were shown on the shoes, which were an interpretation of vintage football shoes, as well as lace details that were peppered throughout. To top it all off, the designer took his final bow with a football helmet in hand. With the fashion set as his cheerleaders, Hilfiger’s definitely being crowned MVP this season.
