Tom Ford Spring 2015

No one does sizzling sex appeal to the nth degree while somehow maintaining a sense of sophisticated luxury like Tom Ford. The man knows how to electrify a runway, and this season it was all about legs, legs, legs! Ultra short minis and high slits revealed the models’ endless stems in sheer ’80s style hosiery, some of which were thigh highs. The collection was mostly dark and sultry and we could see Ford’s frequent collaborator and muse Carine Roitfeld in almost every look, right down to the tousled hair and smoky eyes (and we all know Roitfeld has a great pair of gams).

There was shimmer, there was suede, there was leather, and there was rock n’ roll. A pair of shiny pink and black bell bottoms with flecks of orange in what looked like a distorted leopard print was paired with an even shinier black top, worn with platforms. It was the kind of thing you might imagine on a woman in Studio 54 slinking around with Mick Jagger…or on Mick Jagger himself. Then, of course, there were the dresses and tops with nothing covering the breasts, save for some sequined pasties sewn in or a slim, opaque line of fabric provided coverage. Items like a silver and black striped mini dress or a cut-out white mini dress with a far plunging neckline were interspersed in the mix. In short, it was steaming hot, and that’s what Tom Ford does best.
