Tinker Tailor, the customizable luxury fashion e-comm site from Áslaug Magnúsdottír, has launched an exclusive collaboration with designer Betina Ocampo. Under her label Betina, the 25-year-old former Parsons student, hailing from the Philppines, creates a line of embellished T shirts with slogans like “Diva Is A Female Version Of A Hustler”. But if a T shirt line with slogans sounds like old news, think again. Ocampo’s creative collection this season includes prints of works by old masters like Vermeer and Rigaud, which come printed on black T shirts. Also on offer: sweatshirts with lace sleeves and embellishments like sequins and shells. A printed T shirt of Marie Antoinette comes with embellished green rhinestones that spell out “Bad Bitch In Town”. Other lace or neoprene tops are also available from the line and each piece is made in the Philippines.
Some of Ocampo’s details like shells are reminiscent of her mother Tina Maristela Ocampo‘s own designs for her line Celestina, which includes luxe shell minaudières and croc bags. Ocampo’s collection for Tinker Tailor includes over 500 customizable options including the choice of fabric, color, embellishment, and sleeve length. To highlight the exclusive collection, four style influencers including Refinery29‘s style director Annie Greenberg, fashion editor Veronica Gledhill, model and DJ Edda Petursdottir, and art director and fashion producer Cassidy Ellis to model the line on the site.
