Tim Coppens Fall 2015

by Zachary Weiss

Just as New York gets serious about menswear designers and burgeoning talents in the hommes department, Tim Coppens works on expanding his womenswear offering. Starting off designing for men, Coppens has been slowly growing his line of women’s garb, which was most recently picked up by Harvey Nichols. So how did his Fall lineup look? There was the designer’s signature athletic spin on clothing, from jewel-tone bomber jackets to a patchwork anorak dress. There were a few suiting pieces for the ladies, like a pleated skirt and tuxedo pants. But the best look was where the suiting and the athleticism collided, in the form of a bomber jacket with tobacco leather sleeves and a coordinating mini skirt in the same hue. As for the boys? They got their athletic-inspired gear as well, but in a far more tailored fashion. There were an array of jacket profiles, from a Crombie to a number of proper blazer, and even a long vest. With detailing like zippers, leather paneling, and a touch of fur and leather, these clothes will definitely appeal to the best-dressed boys of the athletic realm (and beyond).
