Tibi Spring 2015

by Daniel Chivu

Amy Smilovic enriched Tibi’s passport this season with an exceptionally global collection. Smilovic injected native traditions from Japan to Peru in the spate of looks, and the soft color palette was comprised of wear-everywhere light greys, whites, and fluid blues, with bits of bright orange, the latter of which signify koi fish. Standouts included a white ornately-quilted top (Smilovic always kills it on the textured, namely quilted, front!) paired with casually flowing white pants, or an iridescent black and boxy button down crop top with a loose white skirt or a soft blue shoulder revealing blouse and cropped white pants. The vibe? Equal parts polished and free-spirited. An added pop sat atop the models heads: Smilovic trotted out chapeaus inspired by a Peruvian toppers. The raw edges of the hats simply intensified the collection’s soft feel. The Tibi gal is always cool and on point, and this season’s looks are her latest must-wears. Polished nonchalance? Sign us up.
