The Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest Winners Are…

by Eddie Roche

Yes, this is a thing. Today we received a press release with the winners of the ’11th annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest Winners’, which makes us wonder where we’ve been for the past decade. The title of the contest pretty much explains it all, with contestants creating a wedding dress made out of toilet paper because…why not? The event, held in Boca Raton, Florida, was presented by Cheap Chic Weddings and Charmin and judged by “wedding planner to the stars” Mikie Saves and Kleinfeld co-founder Mara Urshel. The grand prize winner was Donna Pope Vincler of Brentwood, Tenn., who took home $10,000 for her toilet paper dress making efforts. Other winners include Mimosa Haska from Surfside Beach, South Carolina and Carol Touchstone from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. For the first time in the history of the contest, the winning dress will be made into a ready-to-wear gown by the gang at Kleinfeld. No word on whether it will be flushable.
