September Issues: The Big Weigh-In!
It's time for the annual clock-in of page counts for the September glossies! Guess who's got the thickest book on the newsstand? Vogue, with its 665 ad pages, made the biggest sweep of the fashion books (big shocker there). It's just a 1 percent increase from last year's 658 pages, but it's the largest lot of ads the mag has brought in since 2008. The rest of the September issue intel, right this way!

Edward Leida, formerly design director at Town & Country, has left the media game to join the retail scene. His new title? Vice president design director for Barneys New York. His departure from T&C was unexpected, as the veteran designer spent two years with the society magazine.

Another Gatsby screening? Consider us there. Baz Lurhmann's much-anticipated The Great Gatsby finally opens on Friday, but before the curtain comes up, The Cinema Society with Brooks Brothers and Town & Country held a private screening on Tuesday night. The epic film, already receiving raves, is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's great American novel.

On Friday the stylish ladies of New York lunched chez Christie's amid the scenery of impressionist and modern art, as well as the designs of luxury jewelry designer Coomi Bhasin's Fall collection for her eponymous line Coomi. Town & Country hosted the event along with Christie's to celebrate the auction house's "Impressionist and Modern Art" sale taking place May 8th, while also fête-ing the fabulous Coomi designs, which, like the surrounding art, are relics of history.
Paris Moments: Town & Country's Ambassadorial Eve!
Besides all the (must-warranted) fuss over splendor on the runways during Paris Fashion Week, there are shindigs du note happening left and right. On the refined end of the soiree spectrum: last week's Town & Country bash, held at the abode of Ambassador Charles Rivkin and his wife, Susan Tolston. The eve's woman of honor? T&C fashion editor-at-large, Jade Hobson. Carine Roitfeld and Stephen Gan rolled through, as did T&C's EIC, Jay Fielden, Hayley Bloomingdale, Indre Rockefeller, Shala Monroque, and Dior's Olivier Bialobos, and Andre Leon Talley (we can't get enough of this superexcited meet-and-greet shot with ALT and...
Outnet and About
"It's like we're in a movie!" exclaimed Meredith Melling Burke at John DeLucie's haute spot The Lion last night, as editors gathered to toast theOutnet.com and its director, Stephanie Phair. It wasn't just the hidden room—"just walk straight through the Basquiat," the doorman instructed—or the velvet curtain that further alienated this crowd from reality. It was the snow, falling almost embarrassingly cinematically while the looming (potential) weather crisis went relatively ignored.
