Milan Fall 2014: Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Bottega Veneta
Dolce & Gabbana: It was a fashion fairy tale on Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's runway. Stepping away from the ornate Sicilian references from previous collections, this season was all about fantasy of a different kind. Instead of giant gold coins as bling-y accents, Fall involved childlike appliqués of swans, owls, foxes, flowers, and birds perched on branches. Little Red Riding Hood would simply adore that rouge hooded fur with oversize pockets. Other looks, like an ornately beaded gold dress with matching boots and a matching medieval style hood, or a pewter brocade three-quarter sleeve dress coat with a...
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana Are All In The Family
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are dedicating a special project online to family that they are dubbing #DGFAMILY. The site was created to celebrate family in a new way, allowing users to creating a digital album from around the world. You can upload a photo of your family from the 1900s until today, but they must resemble the family concept of the brand's recent campaigns in terms of attitude, poses and ambiance. (You thought this was just for fun?) There's even a mood board for registered users to consult for inspiration. Grandma would want you to do this.
A Very Dolce & Gabbana Christmas
Claridge's has tapped Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce to design their 2013 Christmas tree and the boys are bringing Italy to England. The tree will include handmade Sicilian puppets, festive glass baubles, multicolored framework, which is native to southern Italy, and pasta. "Our Christmas tree isn't only a celebration of Christmas as we celebrate it in Italy, but it's at the same time a tribute to the artisanal Italian tradition, the same that we love to export worldwide with everything we do," the designers tell Vogue UK. The Brits can check out the tree on November 26th when it's...
Domenico Dolce: "We will close. We will not be able to deal with it."
Domenico Dolce tells The Telegraph that his label with Stefano Gabbana will shutter if they are forced to pay the 343 million Euro fine for tax evasion. "We will close," Dolce reveals. "What do you want us to do? We will close. We will not be able to deal with it. (It's) Impossible." Last week, the duo temporarily shut down their stores in Milan as an act of protest against the Italian government.
Why Did Dolce & Gabbana Close Nine Stores In Milan?
(NEW YORK) Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have found a way to tell the city of Milan's government how they really feel. The boys have closed their nine Milan boutiques for three days starting today in protest of the shabby treatment from the city following their convictions for tax evasion last month.
Look Ma! No Pants! Dolce & Gabbana Gets An Unexpected Visitor
Skin at a Dolce & Gabbana show is NBD, but the boys had an unexpected visitor on the runway this weekend. An unidentified German man (with fab calves) got into his birthday suit and flashed the crowd during the show's finale, in protest of something. Nobody's quite sure what he was upset about, but we're doubting he was protesting D&G's recent sentence to 20 months in jail for those pesky tax issues. Stefano Gabbana did tell The Telegraph before the show that they're calmer than you'd think: "We feel shocked about what's happened. But we are relaxed too because...
