Suno Spring 2015

by Dena Silver

It was hot last night—and we’re not just talking about the weather. SUNO’s design duo, Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis, turned up the heat at their Spring 2015 showing. Models were plaited with standout fishtail braids (spring beauty trend alert!) and Birkenstock-esque heels commanded the runway with a fresh practicality via effortlessly cool soft pastel pants that were slightly reminiscent of doctors’ scrubs, while a bright neon jacquard jacket was a vibrant highlight. There were also feminine florals, and an abundance of prints in smart variations of the basics, like stripes and plaid, to name a few. The collection was inspired primarily by the individuality, strength, and artistry of Louise Bourgeois and Georgia O’Keefe, who are known for using colors, texture and material to add femininity to a predominantly male art world. Suno brought these vibes to the clothes, making for a clean, energized, and downright strong spate of looks for Spring.
