Yahoo is on a hiring roll lately. Today they announced longtime Page Six reporter Stephanie Smith has been named senior editor of Yahoo Food. Smith joined the The New York Post in December 2009 and is also behind the popular food blog 300Sandwiches.com. She also spent over three years as a media reporter for Women’s Wear Daily. Earlier this year she wrote her memoir, 300 Sandwiches: Multilayered Love Story…with Recipes. In her new role at Yahoo, Smith will focus on food-related current events, trends, and personalities. “I could not be more excited for this opportunity!” Smith wrote on her blog today. “Imagine, cooking and eating and writing about what I cook and eat. All for a great company like Yahoo!” She’ll be reporting to Yahoo Food editor-in-chief, Kerry Diamond, and begins her role on September 14th. Bonne chance!
