Sister Act! With Trisha and Caroline Gregory

by Paige Reddinger

Here’s an afternoon pick-me-up from the pages of the Daily Summer…For Mississippi natives Trisha and Caroline Gregory, PR is in the blood. When the stylish sisters aren’t handling press for Salvatore Ferragamo and J. Mendel, they can be found relaxing on the East End.

What are your Hamptons haunts?
Trisha Gregory:
Southampton.
Caroline Gregory: Montauk. Crow’s Nest is my favorite weekend escape!

You travel to Europe for work. What are your favorite spots there?
Trisha:
Anywhere in Italy! After spending one-third of my lifetime with Ferragamo, I consider myself part Italian. I love traveling around the Amalfi Coast and the Italian Riviera.
Caroline: My heart is tied to Italy, so I’ll be going to Positano for my honeymoon, then to the south of France!

What are your plans for the summer?
Trisha:
I traveled throughout Italy to Portofino and Como, which are incredible, but my summer highlight has been Porto Ercole’s Hotel Il Pellicano, which is absolute perfection! From now on, I’m staying around the East Coast before my baby sister’s wedding in late August!
Caroline: I’m planning my wedding in Charleston, South Carolina.

Do you like to travel together?
Trisha:
Of course! We literally like the exact same places and activities—laying out, laying out, and laying out. I even let her borrow my secret stash of Ligne St Barth Roucou oil when she’s nice to me.

Do you ever argue?
Trisha: She probably thinks I’m bossy and that I treat her like my assistant!
Caroline: She won’t let me borrow her tanning oil…

Where is the best place you’ve been for work?
Trisha:
Shooting a story for Elle with [Ferragamo designer] Massimiliano Giornetti at Le Sirenuse in Positano was pure fun. Also, shooting a campaign in São Paulo was a trip to remember.
Caroline: I love my stays at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where I can spy on Rob Pattinson.

Where do you go to escape the fashion crowd?
Trisha:
Anywhere but Montauk!
Caroline: I head south to Mississippi.

Where do you go to find the fashion crowd?
Trisha:
Sunset Beach. I always run into so many friends from the industry there.
Caroline: Surf Lodge on a Sunday…all my peeps are there.

What are your summer wardrobe musts?
Trisha:
Anything from the Chloé Spring/Summer 2015 collection and anything from the Spring/Summer 2011 Ferragamo runway, my favorite collection ever.
Caroline: J. Mendel Resort 2015, because it’s very chic. It’s what I’ll be packing for my honeymoon, and of course, my Lela Rose wedding dress, which is definitely my favorite must-have.

What are the pros and cons of the Hamptons summer experience?
Trisha:
The Hamptons is such an easy escape and can be super relaxing and chill. It’s gorgeous and a place I’ve visited since I first moved to New York,
but it’s not Europe. The Europeans—I’m looking at you, Antonio Sersale of Le Sirenuse!—are so hospitable, and the effortless elegance and sophistication are unparalleled.
Caroline: I like going to the Hamptons because all my friends are there, and it’s where I got engaged!

Flat sandals or heels?
Trisha:
I’m digging my Marni flats for around-the-clock wardrobing, but I’m a heels girl. I’ll for sure be in this season’s Ferragamo platform wedges. I’m 5-foot-11, so why not be taller?
Caroline: Sandals, so that I can go straight from the beach to the bar.

Dining al fresco or indoors?
Trisha:
Al fresco, always! When visiting friends in Quogue, I love to eat at Station.
Caroline: Al fresco. Scoring an outside seat at Navy Beach is the best.

What do you miss about Southern summers?
Trisha:
We miss our other sister, Susannah! We grew up on a farm in Mississippi and totally miss those laid-back, carefree times together. But we don’t miss
the heat!
