Sergio Says! Musings From Cosmo (and Beyond…)

by The Daily Front Row

There’s some Cher, some screenings, and plenty more in Sergio Kletnoy‘s week, both on- and off-duty. As for the work bit? A Cosmo cover shoot transpires, for starters. Happy weekend-ing!

Monday
I couldn’t ask for a better start to my week than quality time with Cher! Well, not the real Cher, like physically there, in front of me, but in spirit. God knows, when I do finally meet Cher, I will be forced to do my Jack-as-Cher from Will & Grace impression and (God willing) get slapped by the hand of god(dess) in the process. Anyway, I got a casual e-mail from Liz Rosenberg (my idol behind Madonna, and the PR wizard for the Queen, Stevie Nicks, Florence Welch, Michael Buble, and Cher) asking me to come by her office and listen to Cher’s latest body of work. The icon of all icons has thrilled, shocked, graced, bedazzled and schooled the imitators, minions and never-was’ for the last six decades. She’s sold over 100 million albums, won gazillions of awards, toured the galaxy and made every single one of us believe in life after love. On September 24th she will release “Closer To The Truth”, her first full album of new material in 11 years, and it’s a helluva drug! The world isn’t ready. First single, “Woman’s World” reached #1 on the dance charts this week and the rest of the album is MAJOR! There are two chills-down-your-spine ballads written by P!nk (“Lie To Me” and “I Walk Alone”, latter of which P!nk sings background vocals on). A pop tune produced by Timbaland and co-written by pop-music’s wizard Bonnie McKee (who’s worked with Katy Perry and Britney Spears) called “I Don’t Have To Sleep To Dream”. Future dance floor classics “Take It Like A Man”, “Dressed To Kill” and “I Hope You Find It” produced by Mark Taylor, the man behind Cher game changer “Believe” and finally my fave by far, “Sirens”, a tear-jerker which made every hair on my arms (and only god knows where else) stand up, also produced by Taylor. This is a drill and you have been warned! Cherilyn Sarkisian is ready for war and she’s not afraid to take down every biatch that came after her, one by one. I’m off to practice my Cher impersonation (hair flip, houuuuuuuuuuu).

Tuesday
This evening I attended the premiere of Radius TWC’s Lovelace (the story of Linda Lovelace, America’s first porn superstar), hosted by The Cinema Society & MCM with Grey Goose. Walking into the MoMA, I passed a slew of fans, autograph hounds, paparazzi, and a ton of security. From the corner of my eye I spotted a hot blonde: it was Sharon Stone! I got closer and closer to one of the few bombshells that make me weak in the knees. Right there and then I knew that no matter how good or bad the film might be, it will be all worth it! FACT: Sharon Stone is a goddess! If I could, I would cover the ground she walks on in rose petals. Although she’d probably have me arrested. She looked every inch like Hollywood royalty, decked out in all white, a hybrid of Basic Instinct and Casino. I wanted to stare, but she’s like the sun and I didn’t want to get burned. Once inside the theatre, I found my seat and played spot the famous person with my friend Viv. This premiere was THE place to be: Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Adam Brody, Debi Mazar, Chris Noth, Oscar-winning directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, James Marsden, Zachary Quinto, Lou Reed, Gloria Steinem, Ivanka Trump, Zac Posen, Joan Smalls, Estelle, Ingrid Sischy and Sandra Brant, Nicole Miller, Nanette Lepore and Fern Mallis were sprinkled amongst NYC’s fashionistas and high society. The film is a must-see, for Ms. Stone’s performance alone! I capped my night off at the after-party with Grey Goose cocktails at the Refinery Rooftop lusting after Sharon, along with literally every single person in the room. All eyes were on her. Amanda was pretty damn hot too, but I’ll save my Seyfried lusting until she gives me something as iconic as the leg cross from Basic Instinct…

Wednesday
After work I jetted off to the Lower East Side for another fancy premiere, this time for Magnolia Pictures’ Prince Avalanche starring two of the coolest hipsters, Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch and hosted by The Cinema Society & Gents. As I sat in my seat stuffing my face with a pair of hot dogs and a cherry cola waiting for my friend Nadia to show up, the room began to fill up: Ben Foster, James Marsden, Dana Delany, Zosia Mamet, Janel Moloney, Julia Garner, Brian d’Arcy James, Heather Matarazzo, Theophilus London, Alex Lundqvist, Yigal Azrouel, Andrej Pejic and legendary supermodel Pat Cleveland. It felt like the ultimate hipster party in Williamsburg. It was hard to pay attention to the story line when Paul Rudd finally took a seat a few rows in front of me. I kept imagining how cool it would be to grab beer or two with one of the funniest dudes in the biz. After the film we made a pit stop at the after party at The Jimmy at the James Hotel for a cocktail (or three) named appropriately after the film Prince of Qui and The Avalanche. The rest of the night was a bit hazy. My drinks per week has reached its quota. Detox. Begins. Now!

Thursday
Today I had to be up at the crack of dawn. It was a HUGE day for Cosmo! At an undisclosed location, we shot an upcoming cover with someone major. Yes, I know it’s not a lot of info. But this isn’t WikiLeaks and I cannot reveal ANYTHING! OK, OK, I’ll say this…I might or might not had to entertain someone’s child and play with their puppy. Oh and the subject was stunningly beautiful, like totally out-of-this-planet beautiful, the rest is a secret. Tootles.
