Salvatore Ferragamo Launches Customizable Driving Shoes

by Paige Reddinger

Salvatore Ferragamo is making its iconic driving shoes for men customizable. The new MTO (made to order) Driver, will have over 100 different variations in the upper body, soles, and the brand’s instantly recognizable Gancio metal hardware. The famous Gancio hardware, that has become de rigeuer for financiers and the jet-set crowd, was first inspired by the wrought iron gate of Salvatore Ferragamo’s Florentine Palazzo Spini Feroni. The drivers can come in crocodile, ostrich, condor calf, and suede mink, and will be offered in an array of colors from flame red to ultramarine. Soles will be available in cherry, dark brown, fog and navy, while the Gancio hardware will be available in polished gold, brushed palladio, metallic blue, and graphite.

To celebrate the launch, Ferragamo tapped three stylish men from around the globe to show off their own sartorial takes on the MTO drivers. The three faces for the drivers include German model and fashion consultant (and Olivia Palermo‘s beau) Johannes Huebel, Austrian race car driver Mathias Lauda, and Sweden-born, Berlin-based Alexander Ljung, the founder and CEO of SoundCloud. To kick off the MTO Driver campaign, #FerragamoEscape the trio will be documenting their Italian holidays in a year long series to celebrate the jet-set life. Head over to Ferragamo.com to live vicariously through the charmed lives of these handsome gentlemen and check out all of the many variations of drivers available.
