Roksanda Spring 2015

by Paige Reddinger

Roksanda Ilincic devised color-saturated looks for Spring: Pastels juxtaposed with primary colors and crisp blacks gave the garments a three-dimensional appearance, no 3-D glasses necessary. Sharply tailored shapes, one of Ilincic’s signatures, keep things classy. A few highlights: an orangey-red below the knee sheath was speckled with enormous blue polka dots, a blushing pink boxy short-sleeved top paired with a flowing skirt, and a mint green sleeveless dress sported mock peplum detailing in black. Patterns arrived for the last half of the collection and gave a textural effect. A boxy sweater and shorts pairing, tricked out in a fiery red and blue pattern, exemplified the simple shapes and ornate coupling of colorings chez Roksanda this season. Finally, a manic blue and red swirling design laid on the surface of a sheer and sweeping dress illustrated felt lively and vibrant, practically jumping off the runway.
