Rodale's Retail Foray

(NEW YORK) Rodale is reaching into the retail realm and is set to launch an e-comm shop on May 20. Entitled Rodale’s, the online store will peddle 500 luxury eco-friendly products from 100 vendors, from Melissa Joy Manning baubles to Eileen Fisher threads to makeup. The products, some of which will be exclusive to the site, are said to speak to Rodale’s values as a publishing house with interests tailored to healthy living.The venture will be the first e-comm site from a publisher without outside partners. The site hopes to rake in a few mill this year, according to WWD, and has been advertising in the pages of Rodale’s mags (no advertorial about the e-boutique has surfaced yet, however). Stay tuned for the eco e-tailer’s debut next week.
