Rochas Spring 2015

by Dena Silver

Alessandro Dell’Acqua‘s second full collection for Rochas makes it clear that the designer is settling into his new gig nicely. This season, the vibe was quite romantic, with plenty of wispy fabrics, sweet florals, lacy tidbits, and prim little bows. The looks avoided being precocious thanks to complex details and involved layering. A lace blouse, layered underneath a babydoll dress with a flouncy drop waist, while a black strapless number involved ample sheer layers reaching mid-calf. This showing was also proof that Dell’Acqua knows his way around volume, from delicate ruffles on a tulle skirt to a voluminous short sleeved jacket, dotted with little birds, paired with a matching, flo0r-sweeping skirt. On the chaussure front, there were pointy-toed slingback pumps decorated with a messy dusting of fur, sequins, and a touch of leather, paired with ribbed sans heels. Lest you forget which show this is, the letter R was sprinkled throughout, emblazoned on belts and festooning a sheer silk button down, giving off a varsity jacket vibe.
