Resort 2014: Thakoon Addition

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Thakoon Panichgul debuted a sporty resort collection for his fast growing secondary label, Thakoon Addition, yesterday. Sporty style seems to be a theme running through the resort collections this season, non? Panichgul’s take on the trend involved boxer shorts, slouchy pants, leather sweatpants, and lo and behold…trenchcoat dickies. Now, there’s a version of the dicky we haven’t seen yet.

How to style a touch of trench? Let us count the ways. A pale blue sheath dress came layered with a striped nautical style trenchcoat dicky, while a light blue button down was worn with a black trenchcoat dickie for a cape-like effect. Fun in the silhouette department included a raspberry oversized mini A-line skirt. As for those boxer shorts, they sported big elastic waistbands, fashioned from lightweight silky ivories. More in the shorts department? Culottes, board shorts and actual boxer stylings (of the briefly-hemmed variety) got paired with tanks and bomber jackets. In sum, it’s a Resort slew of tossed-on, model off-duty apropos duds, prepped up a touch with some gingham but still edgily effortless.
