Ralph Lauren Spring 2016

Paris, Je t’aime! It was all about French dressing chez Ralph this season right down to the music and the American designer’s take on French chic resulted in a particularly chic collection. A simple pair of pleated pants tapered at the ankle with a perfect white dress shirt and red platforms that opened the show was a perfectly elegant look for Spring and set the tone for the rest of the show. Breton stripes were on a multitude of looks from the classic French striped shirt to evening gowns.

Some other standouts were the bateau printed multi-colored pieces like an 80s style trench or a strapless flowing evening gown, even a pair of wide leg navy pants had the boat print going up one leg. There were leather pieces like a fully camel leather suit that was a statement maker or a pair of rolled up leather trousers. But nearly every look in this collection was red, white, and blue…colors that are conveniently both American and French. Start booking your flights to the South of France for Spring, darlings, your wardrobe is already ready.

Oh and the front row? Extra A-list. Here to see Ralph Lauren today was Jessica Chastain, Julianne Moore, and Alec Baldwin along with wife Hilaria Baldwin. For the record, there was not a Kardashian in site at this show.
