Rachel Zoe Builds Up Her Media Group With New Hires

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Rachel Zoe‘s empire continues to expand with a few recent hires to her Zoe Media Group. The uber stylist and fashion reality star has tapped Tom Balamaci as general manager, Megan Gustashaw as editorial director, and Andrea Sexton and Julie Jakoubek as digital sales directors. Balamaci is a Wharton Business School grad with various digital entrepreunurial ventures under his belt. Meanwhile, Sexton comes from Glam Media where she was the managing director of East Coast sales; Jakoubek was previously the digital sales manager at Elle. Gustashaw’s resume includes stints at Popsugar, Ralph Lauren, and Glamour, where she was senior online fashion and beauty editor until April 2013. In her new gig, which she officially started back in May, Gustashaw will be in charge of amping up The Zoe Report with more shopping content, original reporting and photography, and contributions from RZ  Studio, The Rachel Zoe Collection, and movers and shakers in the fashion and beauty biz.

What else is on the Zoe docket, editorially speaking? A newly redesigned e-mail newsletter with a more mobile-friendly format. The newsletter currently has 500,000 subscribers, The Zoe Report’s Twitter clocks in over 65K followers, and its Facebook following is currently at 58,475. But with Zoe’s personal Twitter at over 1.6 million followers, her own voice continues to be her biggest branding point. Nevertheless, the growth of her media group must mean business is good, despite rumors that her TV show and clothing line are struggling.
