PROJECT Trade Show Expands NYC Iteration

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Get ready for a tweaked and expanded PROJECT, New Yorkers: The tradeshow is moving up, literally, from its former Soho digs to take over Pier 92 on January 21, 22, and 23. Helmed by PROJECT’s president, Tommy Fazio, the menswear show is one of an ever-breadthening slew of shows under the Advanstar Global umbrella. Thematically, expect a seasonal spin of Nordic ski lodge this time around.

Why head north to its new spread on the West Side Highway and 54th Street (oui, that is indeed the same space where Alexander Wang holds court each NYFW season) from its previous location at 82 Mercer Street? More brands, less of a trek for showgoers not hailing from downtown, and more room to dabble in interesting booth and presentation styles. New names on the PROJECT scene to look out for next week include Rodd & Gunn, Grayers, and Raleigh Denim.

“The PROJECT team has worked to create an experience with the point of view of the runway and the discovery of a global buying tour,” says Tom Florio, CEO of Advanstar Fashion Group.

Last month, Advanstar rejiggered the offerings and edited its focuses for its web of tradeshows (including MAGIC, FN Platform, and Licensing International, in addition to PROJECT) with the company’s acquisition of ENK. As far as lads’ threads are concerned, the restructuring moved all menswear previously shown at ENKNYC and ENK Vegas to PROJECT NYC and PROJECT Las Vegas, respectively, and vice versa for women’s designers.
