Pitti Uomo Announces 2015 Guest Designers

by Eddie Roche

Ciao! Pitti Uomo announced today that Moschino will be heading to Florence this June as guest menswear designer, which will also mark the brand’s first men’s runway show in Italy since Jeremy Scott joined as creative director. “In Jeremy Scott’s collections, we see the humor, the irreverence, the tendency to explode myths, and the manipulation of pop iconography – all that we knew to be part of Franco Moschino’s spirit and designs,” Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, said in a statement. Earlier this year Scott picked up the Daily Front Row’s very first womenswear designer of the year award at the Fashion Los Angeles Awards, which were held in West Hollywood at the Sunset Tower Hotel. He joined Moschino in October 2013, and his first collection for the brand receiving ample attention. This year he was also responsible for the costumes of Katy Perry at the Superbowl halftime show in February. (Watch Miley Cyrus present the FLA award to Scott HERE.)

Pitti has also invited Thomas Tait, the London-based Canadian designer and 2014 LVMH prize winner, as their latest women’s wear guest designer. Former guest designers at the fair in previous seasons have included Marni, Hood By Air, Z Zegna, and Carven. This year’s fair runs from June 16th to 19th.
