Ciao! Tomorrow kicks off the Pitti Immagine Uomo fashion fair in Florence, Italy with a special celebration this season celebrating Firenze as the “hometown of fashion.” This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Centro de Firenze and the city is included in the celebration with the donation of new lighting (thanks to Stefania Ricci) for the Ponte Vecchio set to turn on this evening in a public celebration to be lit by Andrea Bocelli.

Tonight also includes a performance by Bocelli with the Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino at the cities new opera house, Opera di Firenze. Highlights of the week include an exhibition by Vogue Italia celebrating “Born in Florence,” honoring five fashion houses, Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, and Ermanno Scervino, featuring photos and covers from the titles archives. On Wednesday evening Salvatore Ferragamo will be hosting an invite-only cocktail party to celebrate the opening of the exhibition of “Equilibrium” at the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo. The exhibition will feature the works of artists such as Picasso, Rodin, and Bill Viola and is curated by Ricci and Sergio Risalit.

Luxottica is celebrating Scott Schuman with a new digital project “Faces by The Sartoralist” premiering at Giardino Corsini tomorrow afternoon. Photographer Roxanne Lowit will also show an exhibition of her work curated by Federica Cirri at Aria Art Gallery. This year, Z Zegna is Pitti Uomo’s guest designer with a show on Thursday night at Stazione Leopolda. La Perla will also be relaunching their men’s collection on Thursday evening at Dogana.
