Ciao! Tomorrow kicks off the Pitti Immagine Uomo fashion fair in Florence, Italy with a special celebration this season celebrating Firenze as the “hometown of fashion.” This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Centro de Firenze and the city is included in the celebration with the donation of new lighting (thanks to Stefania Ricci) for the Ponte Vecchio set to turn on this evening in a public celebration to be lit by Andrea Bocelli.

Highlights of the week include an exhibition by Vogue Italia celebrating “Born in Florence,” honoring five fashion houses, Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, and Ermanno Scervino, featuring photos and covers from the titles archives. On Wednesday evening Salvatore Ferragamo will be hosting an invite-only cocktail party to celebrate the opening of the exhibition of “Equilibrium” at the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo. The exhibition will feature the works of artists such as Picasso, Rodin, and Bill Viola and is curated by Ricci and Sergio Risalit.
