Pharrell Williams Is Embarrassed About Being A Fashion Figure

by Eddie Roche

WSJ. nabbed Pharrell Williams for their Fall Fashion/Men’s issue which hits stands on September 13th. Inside the issue, Williams gets real about being a fashion icon, saying: “It embarrasses me a bit to be a figure in fashion. I think everyone is interested in what they put on, even if you dress conservatively. Whatever you’re trying to mask, the mask itself says something about your personality.” As for his signature hat, the singer gives all credit where it’s deserved. “Give Vivienne Westwood the accolade,” he says. “I bought it in London years ago. I just liked it. I’m as surprised as anybody else that it became a thing.” This Friday he joins the NYFW parade, showing his collaboration with G-Star RAW on Friday evening at 23 Wall Street.
