Perfumer Kilian Hennessy Opens His First Parisian Store

by Paige Reddinger

Kilian Hennessy, the man behind the cult-favorite luxury fragrance label By Kilian, has opened his first Paris boutique. The 180-square-foot store is located on 20 Rue Cambon in Paris’ 1st arrondissement. Although Hennessy is a native Parisian, his first freestanding boutique for By Kilian was in New York’s meatpacking district on 804 Washington Street. The perfumer also has a location in Moscow.

The store was designed by Hennessy and design firm Chahan Interior Design, who has worked with the perfumer previously on his New York boutique. The Paris store will follow a similarly chic black and white aesthetic with hints of gold. The couch, chandeliers, silk rug, and coffee table were all specially designed by Chahan Minassian for Kilian Hennessy. The store also features an exclusive artwork installation on the walls in black and gold by François Mascarello, 1930s-style armchairs by Ed Wormley, and Peter Lane ceramic lamps.

Of course, the boutique will feature some of By Kilian’s most popular fragrance collections, like L’Oeuvre Noire, Arabian Nights, Asian Tales, In The Garden of Good and Evil, and his most recent collection, Addictive State of Mind. Plus, expect other brand favorites like the collection of sleek minaudière clutches, and scented jewelry. A brand new fragrance called “Noir Aphrodisiaque” will be exclusive to the Parisian boutique.
