Paris Fall 2013: Lanvin

Mother nature and heaps of bling? Alber Elbaz has that fabulous sense of humor to compliment his fabulous talent. So sure, why not? Kati Nescher showed the first look (you may recognize her from that WSJ. cover), a navy tiered skirted ruffle dress in crinkled fabric with black brogues, a jeweled crown. Also on the gloriously over-accessorized docket: several big necklaces, like a big, bold cursive necklace that said “Happy,” and a blue medallion necklace that said “Help”. Cheeky! Cue the pre-orders from the street style set. Mod du jour Cara Delvingne donned a strapless navy knee length dress had nude sleeves, one shoulder embroidered with a bumble bee, a white flower delicately placed at the waist. Florals later followed, on a hot pink silk swing dress with a big black rose print, to a navy shift dress in white flowers with beetle pins accenting the shoulder and waist. Butterflies and insects crawled their way onto looks like a dark teal tulip skirted dress with embroidered butterflies or in a beetle print like a matching grey silk top and pants. A burgundy shift silk dress on Jamie Bochert was worn with a stunningly sumptuous red and grey fur coat and simple silk shift dresses in sky blue and navy had an equally luxe feel. Whether it’s the simple pieces, the flashiest accouterments, or an infusion of nature, this collection will have everyone buzzing.
