Paris Couture: Atelier Versace

by The Daily Front Row

(PARIS) Bienvenue à Paris, cheris! Haute couture took off last night in Paris with Atelier Versace’s star-studded show. Princess of Monaco, Charlene Wittstock, kept the paps busy with her gaggle of bodyguards. She later caught up with the bodyguard himself, Kevin Costner, who was attending with his wife, Christine Baumgartner. Also sitting front row were actresses Olivia Munn and a newly brunette Melissa George.

Dontella Versace‘s collection debuted with Kristen McMenamy, longtime model for Gianni Versace, clad in a fitted suit with 24-karat gold pinstripes. While pinstripes might scream business for anyone else, for Donatella it came down to sex appeal, of course, with cut-out skin revealing pencil dresses with fur epaulets embroidered with gold or cigarette pants paired with a risqué fox fur blazer—all inspired by architecture. A gold metal blazer worn sans pants as a dress and a body-hugging gold strapless leather mini dress also lit up the runway. And for the ladies front row? Plenty of tapis rouge stunners, like those leggy cut-out gowns in hot pink and white with leather tubing that slithered around the neckline. Serious haute-ness.
