Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta is headed to Oz. The label will be closing this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia on Friday, May 20 with its Summer 2016 collection, becoming one of the first international luxury brands to present there. The brand will be represented in Sydney by executive vice president (which leads us to the conclusion that creative director Peter Copping will be staying on U.S. soil next month). Cynthia Rowley will  be showing there on May 19, a day dedicated to swimwear and activewear.

WME/IMG also announced a partnership today with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, and it will become the major long-term partner to the fashion industry, supporting 17 fashion week events around the world annually. It’s the official airline of fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan, Berlin, Sydney, and Mumbai. That includes New York Fashion Week: The Shows, MADE Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, London Collections Men, Milan Fashion Week: Milano Moda Donna, Milano Moda Uomo, Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Berlin, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, and Lakme Fashion Week (Mumbai). Oscar de la Renta will be presented at MBFWA by Etihad.
