NYLON CEO Joe Mohen Gone After One Week

Just a week after being named CEO at the newly merged NYLON and FashionIndie ventureThe Daily hears that Joe Mohen was fired last week. The executive, who was the founder of Election.com, has also dabbled in a few other startups including FounderFuel and the now-defunct music downloading site, SpiralFrog, according to his LinkedIn account. Mohen was tapped to lead the new fashion venture on May 2nd, alongside Dana Fields, who will continue to serve as the executive vice president, publisher, and chief revenue officer.  NYLON’s executive editor, Ashley Baker, turned down the editor-in-chief gig on May 7th, as reported exclusively by The Daily, and is currently in an interim consulting role to help find the mag’s next EIC. As for FashionIndie, the style blogger site’s co-founder and EIC Beca Alexander‘s title has yet to be determined, while her husband and FashionIndie cofounder Daniel Saynt’s position is now executive vice president of digital at NYLON Media, Inc., the merged venture’s new name. Marc Luzzatto of Diversis Capital, which invested in the merger, now holds the title of executive chairman at NYLON Media, Inc.
