Mr. Porter announced a collaboration with the upcoming American Psycho The Musical, which opens on April 21 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York. The men’s retail destination has worked with Tony award-winning costume designer Katrina Lindsay on looks that will be part of Mr. Porter’s seasonal product offering. The site will also host exclusive content for the show during April and May, including in The Journal, its weekly online magazine. It’s a reunion of sorts for the online retailer and show, who partnered in November 2013 for the British production at the Almeida Theatre. American Psycho The Musical is based on Bret Easton Ellis’ cult novel, which became a hit indie movie in 2000 starring Christian Bale. The plot follows Wall Streeter Patrick Bateman, played by Benjamin Walker, who weaves through New York in the ’80s killing just about anybody he can get his hands on. (Jazz hands!?) Duncan Sheik, who wrote Spring Awakening, provides the music and lyrics.
