Misha Nonoo Fall 2015

by Dena Silver

As a welcome reprieve from the thumping techno beats or throwback ‘70s tunes found on  most catwalks, Misha Nonoo hired Decoda, a live string ensemble, to serenade her audience. Often influenced by art, this season Nonoo looked to Tracy Emin’s The Last Great Adventure Is You, an exhibit focusing on the intricacies of a woman’s life. The artist’s work in that collection appeared to be simple, but that was all a façade. The hard work was hidden in the simplicity. Yet another sophisticated touch: even the show notes were scented by Jo Malone fragrances.

As for the clothes, they were simply gorgeous, starting with the first look, a navy suit with a brushed alpaca jacket and a simple white button-down. More complicated getups included a printed welder jumpsuit, and a blazer dress with a shockingly low neckline. Nonoo got creative with her silhouettes this season—a slim suit here, a short dress there, and a slew of different necklines and revealing details throughout. But we’d be remiss not to mention the final looks of the show: a shimmering, silvery-pink liquid metal hue was paired with crisp white blazers and dresses. A refreshing Fall finale.
