Menswear Spring 2014: Calvin Klein

(MILAN) Calvin Klein Collection

Calvin Klein Collection’s Italo Zucchelli looked no further than his Fire Island summer home for the inspiration that guided his Men’s Spring/Summer 2014 presentation out to sea. Focusing on a color palette of blue, blue, and more blue, this collection proved that a monotonous wardrobe can look quite chic. Zucchelli’s use of luxe fabrics, combined with his impeccable tailoring skills and streamlined simplicity stayed true to the Calvin aesthetic while leaving a bit of room for a sci-fi fantasy.

The monochromatic suits, complete with matching shades, will be a hit with dapper dudes, while the casual crowd will go crazy over the wide variety of blue button downs paired with cuffed pants. Pinstripe had a moment in the spotlight as well, showing up in the form of an oversized shirt, making an appearance on the lapel of a jacket, and being dressed down with only a simple white tank.

And don’t expect to bid adieu to graphic sweatshirts, bomber jackets or clunky shoes, because all three were featured heavily on this runway. The one item we’ve deemed necessary to buy for your beau and keep for yourself? A baby blue crocodile vest, because it really doesn’t get any more luxurious than that.
