Looking to check out that Star Wars inspired collection from Rodarte that walked down the runway in February? Make your way to Curve on Bond Street where yesterday Rodarte’s Laura and Kate Mulleavy, Kristen Dunst, and Nevena Borissona celebrated the collection with an event in the store that welcomed Joe Zee, Karolina Kurkova, and Jenny Shimizu. Curve owner Borissona filled us in on all things Rodarte…

You’re carrying a lot of Rodarte’s collection for Fall. What was it about this collection?
I’ve carried Rodarte at the boutique for a few seasons now. What I’ve always loved about Laura and Kate Mulleavy, besides how fantastic they are, is that they’re one of the few designer’s who have been able to mix artistry and costume with fashion and make it wearable. It’s not an easy task and somehow, they always make it work.

Tell us a little about the Rodarte/Catherine Opie/Alec Soth book. Will you be selling it exclusively?
Rodarte has sold the book for some time now, but this particular launch was for the limited-edition book covers hand-painted by artist Rebekah Miles. We’re very lucky to have these exclusive to Curve.

The world celebrated May 4th as Star Wars day. Are you a fan?
The funny thing about this is that the collaboration happened in a very organic way. When we decided to have the event on May 4th, we didn’t even realize that it was the “Star Wars May the 4th be with you” day. Laura and Kate happened to be in town for Met Ball so it just worked out in that way. I did watch the originalStar Wars films, but this was definitely their vision all of the way. I’m just a fan of the clothes!
