Marni Fall 2015

by Paige Reddinger

An army of impeccably-dressed warriors trotted out at Marni this season. But the clean lines, luxurious furs, gabardine, tweeds, and thick wools looked anything but war-ready. Fur accented the shoulder of a trench, snaking around one shoulder, and could be spotted on the sleeves of sleek camel coat that was cinched at the waist. Tunics were worn over wide-leg pants, and there were plenty of Marni’s magnificent prints.

It was the accessories that really signified the warrior aesthetic. Leather and fur bags came as pouches slung across the breast, snakeskin bags were worn cross-body, and thick-strapped bags were worn with the purse in the back. Giant tribal disc-like earrings (statement earrings are having a real moment this season) were fastened in the back with gold spheres. Fiercely chic!
