Male Model Moments: Meet Jae Yoo
In our third edition of ‘Male Model Moments’, we meet Soul Artist’s Jae Yoo, who hails from Busan, South Korea. He’s walked for Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Viktor & Rolf, Dolce & Gabbana and has appeared in campaigns for Brioni, and Moncler Gamme Bleu shot by Steven Meisel. Single/Married/Dating? Currently in a relationship with a gorgeous lady from way back in college.
Nickname: Yao Ming, for being a tall Asian.
What were you like as a kid in a word… Shy
What’s your guilty pleasure? Junk food, especially milk chocolate and sour jelly candies.
How often do you call your Mom? I don’t call my mom, but I do message her everyday.
What’s your number one fitness tip? Concentrate on each rep you do. Better to do one rep in the right form than do repetitions for hours doing them wrong.
Who is your biggest fan? My family. They’re my biggest fans.
Where would you like to retire? I will most likely retire and move back to west coast, somewhere like Seattle or Portland. Any part of California seems appealing to me.
What’s your middle name? Hyukjae. It is actually my first name in Korean. However, people have a hard time pronouncing it, so I go by Jae.
Where would you like to go that you haven’t gone to? I would like to visit Spain sometime soon. Also Japan has been on my list for the longest time.

How many times have you watched Zoolander? I’ve actually never watched Zoolander, but I always hear about it.
What’s the best thing about being a male model? You get to experience something that you can’t with most careers: meeting the most renowned designers, photographers, stylists, hair and make up artists, females models, money guys, and so forth. Also, you get to travel and experience the lifestyle of different cultures firsthand.
How often do you look in the mirror every day? The only time I look at myself in the mirror is when I come out from shower.
How would you describe your cooking? My cooking isn’t excellent, but it isn’t trash, either.
What books are you reading or have read lately? I recently read The Girl with Dragon Tattoo, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Who changed your world? I think the only person who can change one’s life is him/herself.
What word sums up your current state of mind? Loving the moment.
