This week, we meet 6’2″ mod Broderick Hunter, who hails from Fontana, California. You might recognize from fronting for Phillip Plein or appearing in Fantastic Man. What’s his hidden talent? Greatest fear? Guilty pleasure? Come meet Broderick and follow him on Instagram @BroderickHunter.
Hometown: Fontana, California
Current City: New York City
Single/Married/Dating? Single as ever.
Nickname: I have way too many. People call me ‘B’ or ‘Brody’; I got ‘Brodsky’ recently, which was a first. My friends from my basketball years still call me ‘Boost’ sometimes (I could jump high when I played basketball). Take your pick.
What was your first modeling job ever?
My first modeling job was for LisaRaye [McCoy-Misick]‘s denim line back in 2011 when I was 20. It was pretty interesting. She laid on my back, topless.
How did you spend the money you made?
I usually reinvest my money towards my career, or something to make someone smile, like a gift for my mom. When it’s not that, I’m usually treating myself to my latest fetish at that time. That can be hats, shoes, accessories or whatever’s caught my eye. Usually, it’s shoes.
Where are we least likely to find you?
A sushi restaurant. I’ll eat it, but it won’t be on the top of my list of decisions. There, or in the full-priced sections of a department store. I go straight to the clearance rack.
Who are your best male model buddies?
I’ve developed good relationships with Cameron Gentry, Isha Blaaker, Darius Williams, and Loic Mabanza, to name a few. I get along with all of the guys I work with, but those guys are very cool.
What would we be surprised to know about you?
Most people don’t know that I’m actually very shy. My alter ego takes over at my photo shoots and when I’m filming videos. I’ve gotten more comfortable over the years, but I’m still a bit shy. I also hate taking selfies, which is why I normally post random videos on my social media.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Gummy bears. I can’t get on a plane or go to the store without buying them.
What time do you wake up every day? What’s your bedtime?
OK. I have a problem; 90 percent of the time I’m up all night until 6 a.m., then I’ll finally fall asleep and wake up at noon. Then I’ll nap around 3 to 5 p.m., depending on the day. I’m up around 10:30 to 11 p.m.. Then up until 6 a.m. and repeat it all over again.
What scares you?
Besides spiders and my mother when I don’t answer the phone or call her within 2 to 3 days? My future scares me. I don’t know what lies ahead, so I’m always a little afraid of the future, but at the same time intrigued by it.What do you always eat?
French toast whenever possible, burgers and fries, and anything very spicy.
What was your best and worst subject in school?
I was killer at math, but was horrible in chemistry and science.
What kind of student were you in high school?
I was a jock. I played on the basketball team, but was also kind of a loner at the same time. I kept to myself and the few people I associated with.
Who do you admire most in the world?
Kanye West is all the entertainment I need. I look forward to his interviews. He’s a very interesting fellow.
What’s your greatest fear?
My plane falling out of the air. That would be crazy.
Any secret talents?
I can do a mean moonwalk in my socks. Shout out to Michael Jackson.
Who’d your favorite action hero?
Batman!
Where do you think you’ll be in 10 years?
In 10 years, I’ll be on TV or in the movies. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll hopefully be living on some secluded island.
Who’s your favorite female model?
Oh man, I’m going to get in a lot of trouble for this…Jourdan DunnCara D. also kills in front of the camera; Naomi Campbell always kills it… along with many, many others. Too many to choose from, but those are some of my favorites.
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
“Take advantage of all these wonderful cartoon shows, sir, because they will not be here when you’re older.”
