Bauble alert! Swarovski and Maison Martin Margiela joined forces on a bit of bling. Consider us intrigued: By fusing crystal and matte white resin, an assortment of couture and ready-to-wear jewelry will be created out of the material, which bares the formal name of Crystalactite. The higher-end pieces from the collection graced Maison Martin Margiela’s couture runway earlier this month, and will retail around $1,285 for a bracelet and $1,025 for a pendant when they hit stores in November. Also available around the same time for those with slightly less luxe budgets? A line of pieces bearing prices that are half of the couture styles. That’s not all: the Crystalactite jewelry is just an introduction to the two houses working together, as Maison Martin Margiela and Swarovski plan on offering a larger assortment of goods starting spring 2014. “It’s really important for us to embrace the vision of the designers and then try to turn that into reality with our products.” A rather unexpected partnership, non?
