Loewe Fall 2015

by Dena Silver

The bags at Loewe sort of stole the show this season. Since his arrival at the storied Spanish brand, Jonathan Anderson has made his mark in the accessories category, and he further cemented his success with this Fall collection. The purses came in a pleasingly wide array of styles: some were squishy and soft, done in bright pastel hues, others were rigid and structured with a playful zig-zagged handle, and a few luxurious skins made an appearance as well. But what about the clothes? There was an ’80s vibe, from the wide-collared leather jackets to the over-sized glasses with gradient lenses. Chunky cardigans and printed sweaters added to the look, as did double-breasted details on loose trench coats and plenty of pastel hues. Particularly impressive was Anderson’s spin on the cargo pant. Featuring a high waist, a wide leg, and a mature herringbone pattern, this just might be the chicest cargo iteration we’ve seen.
