Live From Las Vegas! Sydney Sadick Chats Up Hannah Bronfman
Everyone needs a little weekend getaway, and for our L.A. correspondent, Vegas it was! Sydney Sadick caught up with DJ Hannah Bronfman at the Maison de Mode opening at Sin City’s very own The Shops at Crystals, an ethical pop-up boutique curated by Amanda Hearst and Hassan Pierre.
Sydney Sadick: Welcome to Vegas!
Hannah Bronfman: Thanks! My friend Hassan has put together this pop up shop for three seasons now, and it’s really been amazing to watch it progress. The first time he did it in Miami during Art Basel, and the second time in New York during Frieze. It’s just taken off, and it’s great that he can make people have eyes on sustainability—sustainable fashion is really the ultimate in luxury. When he asked me to come out here to DJ, I was wondering how I was going to make it while working on my new app, Beautified, but I made it!
SS: Glad you’re here! Tell me about Beautified.
HB: I launched it about one month ago. I’ve grown up in New York my whole life and really felt that there was something missing for a girl like me. I knew if I felt this way, thousands of other girls did, too. With all of the fashion tech upcoming companies and quick saturation of that market, on top of me being such a beauty and wellness enthusiast, I wanted to create something to support small business owners. I thought the best way to do this was to fill their unsold [appointment] inventory and make it in a win-win for everyone.
SS: What are your three must-have beauty products for summer?
HB: I’m loving my Giorgio Armani highlighter, Urban Decay glitter eyeliner…and coconut oil—I take off all of my makeup with it!
SS: What’s on your summer playlist?
HB: I definitely say The XX—there’s some good remixes out there. I’m loving the new Kanye West. My brother produced one of his songs on the new album. I’m really anticipating Jay-Z’s album too.
SS: Do you get out to L.A. often?
HB: I do! I’ve been spending some time there working on my app.
SS: What are your haunts out there?
HB: I absolutely love M Café. And there’s a great organic beauty store next door to the Melrose location. Obviously, I love Urth Caffe. I like healthy food. For stores, Curvee’s great, Ten Over Six, and Satine.
